Belgian series attack Latin America!

In Buenos Aires, the BIFFF and the BIF Market and the INCAA and Blood Window have signed an agreement to formalize and start the reciprocal support of the BIF Market and Blood Window with regard to the screening of television series in their two respective countries!

Latin American television series will be screened in Brussels for buying purposes in Europe. This will also mean a launching pad for Belgian (and European) series shown at the Buenos Aires market. Hence, they will be able to conquer the giant Latin American market!

“The main goal of this agreement is the promotion of genre cinema, more specifically genre television series”, declared Guy Delmote, director of the BIFFF, and Romain Roll, director of the BIF Market. “That is why the BIFFF with its BIF Market, one of the world’s biggest genre festivals, and Blood Window, the biggest genre film market in Latin America, have signed this agreement. Even if during the first year we will be focusing on Belgian and Argentinian series, in the future we want to support all European and Latin American genre productions.”

The first call for projects was launched at the 3th BIF Market, which took place from the 10th until the 13th of April 2019 at BOZAR, the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels.

BIFFF & BIF Market have the pleasure to announce the 2 selected Belgian projects (Work In Progress) that will be presented at Blood Window (the Film Market during Ventana Sur) in Buenos Aires during the B2 TV Project Pitch Session next december :

UNSEEN

Synopsis:
Speculative fiction series UNSEEN tells the story of how, over twenty days, people and their families face a mysterious phenomenon: some of them become invisible.
Their invisibility becomes a handicap or a power, a tool of protection, voyeurism, vengeance or domination.
Very quickly, danger threatens the unseen. To keep the epidemic under control, the medical authorities scheme a trap that closes down on all the unseen.
The combat opposing “power vs. morality” resurges like never before. To dominate the unseen and transform them in the ultimate means of power, one just needs to ignore them. As for the unseen, once they are blinded by their new powers, they will immediately abuse these powers. This story confronts us to our wish to see what we like. A story that speaks of our blindness.
