BIF Market Projects Competition – Terms & Conditions
1. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the BIF Market, projects must meet the following criteria:
1.1 Feature Length
The project must be a fiction feature-length film.
1.2 Genre
Projects must belong to the genre film category, including but not limited to Thriller, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Black or Surrealist Humor, Horror, and Surrealism.
1.3 Project Stage
- Projects in early development
- Projects in mid-stage development, defined as having at least 20% of the budget secured and the script completed.
- Projects in post-production
Projects can be selected to participate online or onsite. Only mid-stage development projects selected onsite are eligible for competition.
1.4 Language
- A pitch document (maximum 500 words).
- A note of intent from the director or producer (maximum 250 words).
- A logline summarizing the project (maximum 50 words).
- Proof of funding detailing the percentage of the budget secured (minimum 20%).
Original language submissions are required.
Projects not in English must include English subtitles.
1.5 Materials
All the requested materials must be delivered within the deadline. This condition is mandatory to remain in the onsite selection.
1.6 Attendance
If selected for the onsite competition, at least one representative (director and/or producer) must attend the entire duration of the BIF Market, from Sunday, April 13 to Saturday, April 19.
Failure to comply with this condition may result in the project being moved to the online competition, given the limited number of onsite slots.
2. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
2.1 Submission Period
Submissions open on December 1, 2024, at 00:01 (CET) and close on February 28, 2025, at 23:59 (CET).

There is no submission fee for the 2025 edition.
3. SELECTED PROJECTS
3.1 Official Selection
Only projects in the official selection (onsite or online) will be featured in the BIF Market guide and on the official presentation and meeting platform.
At the end of the BIF Market (onsite & online), the project and contact (producer’s email) will be featured on the BIF Market Official Website.
3.2 Pitching Sessions
Onsite projects will participate in pitching sessions scheduled from April 14, 2025, to April 16, 2025. Each pitch must last a maximum of 5 minutes.
3.3 Accommodation
Each selected project will receive a 6-night hotel accommodation for one representative (it is possible to book a twin room if you are two persons presenting the project, without any additional fee).
3.4 Meetings
Representatives of selected projects will have the possibility of one-on-one meetings with industry professionals, through the Grip platform. Meetings with jury members for projects in competition will be pre-arranged by the BIF Market team, while all other meetings are to be arranged by participants themselves at their own will. If you are onsite, you can plan online meetings after April 19.
3.5 Awards
Prizes may include post-production services or invitations to international industry events. Specific awards will be announced closer to the event.
3.6 Costs
While hotel accommodation and transport from and to the airport/train station are provided for ONE representative of onsite-selected projects, all other travel expenses remain the responsibility of the project representatives.
4. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
4.1 Ownership and Rights
The applicant guarantees they have all necessary rights and permissions to submit the project.
4.2 Withdrawal
Selected projects may not withdraw from the competition once confirmed.
If you withdraw from the selection after the BIF Market Guide is sent for print, you will be blacklisted for all future BIF Market activities.
Please be sure to inform the BIF Market as soon as possible if you want to withdraw from the BIF Market selection. This will allow the BIF Market to offer your slot to another project.
4.3 Modifications
The BIF Market reserves the right to amend these regulations if necessary. Participants will be notified of any changes in advance.
4.4 Disqualification
Failure to comply with these regulations may result in disqualification, blacklisting, or fees. This will be at the discretion of the BIF Market management.
