Synopsis

A group of journalists covering the 2010 earthquake in Haiti realize that some injured people are being victims of organ trafficking. Besieged by traffickers, their options are to escape or die.

Director’s vision

‘Harvest Time’ will expose us to our greatest anxieties about unthinkable tragedies and the moral justifications we have as human beings in times of crisis. Where these crises end up being a disgrace for some and for others, an opportunity.

Budget

Obtained financing and/or aid: B-ROLL FILMS: $ 850.000 Tax incentives for investment in cinematography in the Dominican Republic. (art. 34 of law 108-10): It consists of a deduction of one hundred percent (100%) of the invested real value of the income tax at your expense. The deductible amount to which the law refers may not be greater than twenty-five percent (25%) of the tax payable for the fiscal year in which the investment was made. Director’s biography

Flavio Pedota is a director and screenwriter. His three previously made short films were selected at numerous festivals around the world. At the same time, he worked as a director of music videos and commercials from the age of 19 to the present. His first feature film, ‘Infección’ is a Venezuelan-Mexican co-production, which has been selected in more than 52 festivals worldwide, among them: Sitges, BIFFF, BIFAN, Transilvania, Huelva, Raindance, Guadalajara, Fantasporto. This production has also been distributed in 34 territories, including the United States, Japan, Germany, Spain, Vietnam, South Korea and many others. At the same time, the exhibition in its home country was banned by the Venezuelan government due to its social commentary.
